Reports of a big explosion and fire in Leamington Spa. Anyone know anything more about it?

The local Facebook page has suggested it's MKM building supplies on fire, looks to be about the right location.

This was my view from an hour ago in Warwick, it's not changed much.

Leesons next door to MKM. I suspect MKM might have gone too as its such a large blaze and they are right next to each other.

Yes, leeson. They make adhesives and coatings for plastics. Very nasty indeed.

A few impressive photos/videos on Twitter:

On the second one it looks like the adjacent industrial units inc. GSF are very toasty too.

I didn’t hear an explosion but it’s in the industrial park behind the Sikh temple on the south side of the river. Local advice is to stay in doors and keep your windows closed. No update on the company concerned yet

Lessons make polyurethane glue, so very nasty stuff and hard to extinguish. Water will do sweet FA on it. This will be a long one for fire brigade to fight.

Hopefully not but its a massive building and it would not be difficult to end up trapped and with that smoke you probably have literally a few breaths before you are in big trouble.

If it is indeed urethane plastics then they're likely not want an airport style foam monitor, water won't touch that.

Predictably there's already some conspiracy theories floating around that this was a deliberate attack or sabotage to do with a worldwide shortage of plastics ....

Really quick responses from the Police and Fire services around here. This is just down the road from me (thankfully far enough away I've not been evacuated or in danger)
