Seems to be steaming into Louisiana and is growing strength rapidly, being just shy of a cat 5 currently.

Looks like it’s going to be a wild night for the population in its way…..

NY Times reporting it could be the strongest hurricane to hit Louisiana since the 1850s, making it on par with Katrina. Gotta be a tough few days for the folks down there..

It was half way down this article before the BBC mentioned it.

Standards are slipping..

Looks pretty grim but so far their strengthened flood defences (post Katrina) seem to be preventing another flood.

Tough times for those affected, best wishes to all.

As to the worst/hottest since whenever, all this shows is that it was worse / hotter on or before whenever, so better now, the opposite message to that intended. Those opportunists abusing weather and suffering to push this spin hope that people won't think.

Remeber the series preppers or doomsday preppers?

Seems the USA has an episode of that that has come true the last two years.

"the worldside pandemic one
the failure of the national grid episode
civil unrest one
