Well, the rumour mill is saying a reshuffle is imminent and Gavin is in the firing line (along with Patel and Raab if you believe what you read on t’internet) and it can’t come quick enough for this waste of space.

Hopefully Boris will have a moment of clarity and realise he's been confusing those three individuals with people actually competent enough to do the job, and act accordingly, although once he starts going down that avenue of thought regarding the composition of the Cabinet he'll actually find it isn't so much an avenue as a cul-de-sac, with an inevitable conclusion at the end that he won't like much.

I think there is some unconcious bias in there and maybe a bit of laziness, its been scientifically proven that white people arent as adept at identifying black faces, apparently doing extra processing for white ones and just stopping at someone being black.

Though ironically, possibly you could consider that the actually racist bit would be a politician taking extra time to be 100 percent sure of someone of colours identity to avoid just this kind of thing happening.

The 'possible' reshuffle was designed with one reason only. To stop ministers from breaking ranks on the tax hikes. Anyone that was going to, would have lost their job.

It's primarily a competence issue.

When you're the Education Secretary and you mix up a black rugby player with a black footballer who's forced the Government into two u-turns over school meals (i.e. well into Williamson's brief) and launched a book club to get kids reading more that's just utterly embarrassing.

It's embarrassing - but this is Gavin Williamson we are talking about. A prize knobhead if ever there was one.

Some seem to be making it a race thing though. Which is stupid (unless there is something more to underpin that).

He shouldn't be anywhere near making important decisions IMO, but making a thing out of this is daft and yet again allows deflection on a pathetic little meaningless point.
