Seems quite a lot has gone on in her tenature. Time for her to be replaced, possibly investigated?

I was really surprised when she got the top job, wasn't she in charge of the operation when Jean Charles De Menezes was shot?

That's true. She was also around when there was an investigation (one of five as far as I can remember) about a private investigator being axed to death in a pub car park and still no conviction for it.

People get these jobs, not on their achievements.

Look at Sir Keir Starmer, the things he didn't get right in the CPS

" Starmer - apologised for the failure to prosecute Jimmy Savile over abuse allegations while he was alive and vowed to bring more sex offenders to justice.

In 2010, he announced the controversial decision not to prosecute PC Simon Harwood over the death of newspaper seller Ian Tomlinson during the G20 protests in London in April 2009. A year later, the DPP said the police officer would face a manslaughter charge after more evidence came out at an inquest into the death.

Also in 2011, Mr Starmer admitted that the ordeal of Milly Dowler's family during the trial of her killer had raised "fundamental questions" about the court process.

Other major cases to emerge on his watch include Operations Weeting and Tuleta, the police investigations into alleged phone and computer hacking by journalists, and Operation Elveden, Scotland Yard's inquiry into alleged corrupt payments by journalists to public officials."

Has there been any police commissioner in any U.K. force, who in their career hasn’t had unsolved serious crimes or deaths with police involvement?

A jury concluded she had no personal culpability for Menezes.

If you're going to use examples, at least use valid ones.

Judgement said:
However, the Office of the Commissioner of the Metropolis was to be charged with failure to discharge a duty under section 3(1) of the Health and Safety at Work ETC Act 1974, contrary to section 33(1)(a) of the Health and Safety at Work ETC Act 1974. On the 1 October 2007 the trial in respect of this charge commenced at the Central Criminal Court. On the 1 November 2007 the jury returned a verdict of ‘guilty’ in respect of the Health and Safety charge. When the foreman of the jury delivered the verdict she added the rider as follows, “In reaching this verdict the jury attached no personal culpability to Commander DICK.” The trial judge, The Honourable Mr Justice HENRIQUES when delivering sentence made the following comment in respect of Commander DICK, “The jury’s rider in relation to her was anticipated by me and it accords with my view of the facts. She was in-charge of and controlling an extremely difficult situation. She has now that rider to depend on and in my judgement, rightly so.”
Must have been because she's gay though... rolleyes
I can't be the only one that had a chuckle at a lesbian police officer literally being called Commander Dick.

ETA. Nope, just relayed the above to the OH and she laughed.

She's mentioned in the Daniel Morgan Independent Inquiry Report as she had some ethical oversight role during one of the failed Op Abelard investigations into the 1987 axe murder of Daniel Morgan

Seems she was unhelpful to the Inquiry Panel when it came to accessing information. Given her name is mentioned in relation to one of the failed investigations back in the day perhaps she should have been taken completely out of the loop when it came to the Daniel Morgan Independent Inquiry?

Not a job many would want. Damned if you do, damned if you dont, damned if you don't do enough.

Read this, however and you ll see the problem is political rather then personable
