Angela Rayner has been making the most of her expenses costs by investing in :
2 x sets of air pods at £249 a set.

She has, apparently, just paid back previously money claimed for :
An apple pencil and keyboard (£256) to partner the £1919 ipad pro.

Only the best for our Shadow frontline Minister it seems, while we are being hit by higher taxation.

Go search the lists for almost any MP, it will sicken you. They act like pigs with their snouts in an endless trough of self gratification.

What are wrong with those? I bought similar last year as business expenses. Actually bought an iPad Pro & pencil and a full size Mac for both my wife and myself. I use the Mac for a lot of my work, she used the pro as she prefers the iPad type thing to traditional computers and she does most the company admin and invoicing on there.

They are fairly standard items with biz expenses.

I believe MPs claimed over 9 million in expenses on top of what a 70k each salary last year? What do they spend their salary on?

Yes I know, it is absolutely infuriating to say the least. The ‘expenses scandal’ did root out some of the very worst excesses but it seems to be fearing it’s ‘trough eaters’ head again.

They’re all at it. Is Angela Rayner special to you?

Don’t see anything wrong per se with the items, but she must have broken rules to be required to pay back the money. Maybe she had access to previously purchased items, but that’s me speculating.

Standard as they are pretty expensive which reduces your taxable income, but ultimately its all being paid for by money you earned.
For MPs the cost of all these just comes straight out of the public coffers.

Has she? I have searched and can’t find anything to say she has had to pay back any expenses.

They probably spend their salary on their personal expenses. As an MP there are going to be plenty of legitimate expenses they can claim back.

She has hearing issues I suspect thsts why she needs a good quality pair. Frankly while contractors can't claim for this stuff now inside ir35 but still have to supply own kit it take the pee but it's hardly a big swindle. Course she will only use then for work right.

Plus you can get a perfectly decent pair with a less fashionable logo for a fraction of the price.

Well presumably she puts claims through for the people in her employment in her constituency office?

That's nothing compared to the £297 million spaffed up the wall for the aborted vaccine passports.

(I've made up the number but it wouldn't surprise anyone if they've spent that much!)

Don't forget Boris' flat. But that was from a donor, so it's OK. In other news Kier Starmer spent a squillion pounds on a squirrel! It's nuts round here I tells ya! They are up to no good and the fact history condones it is no excuse These people work for us and would be fired from any workplace I know for such profligate claims never mind for their behaviour. We deserve better.

That’s mental what some of these chumps are claiming!

My MP is claiming £2600 a month for a flat in London. VFM!

Oooh, oooh, I know.

Right, whenever Boris or Patel or Hancock or any other (ex)member of the cabinet spunks taxpayer money or gets donors to pay for stuff the standard response here is ‘Nobody cares, look at the polls’.

So, with that in mind,

Nobody cares, look at the polls…

yeah, yeah, it’s only one poll but polls, schmolls smile
