Essar - the start of the big COVID debt problems?
Discussion
Sunday Times reporting Essar “teetering on the brink of collapse” and in urgent talks with HMRC over hundreds of millions of pounds it has to start repaying this week unless it can agree a new deal.
Some will argue they’ll never be allowed to go under, and a new deal will be reached, particularly with the state of the perceived fuel issues in UK right now. However, are we looking at yet another example of a government bailout which realistically was unsustainable/excessive and which will ultimately never be fully repaid?
