I expect that he’ll do a couple of years inside at the most. He might not even do a couple of weeks inside if there are peaceful protests on his behalf.

Along with sex trafficking, Kelly was also found guilty of racketeering - a charge normally used against organised crime associations. During the trial, prosecutors detailed how his managers, security guards and other entourage members worked to assist him in his criminal enterprise.
So what happens to all this lot?

You clearly don’t understand the American legal system nor the context of the case. There will be zero protests on his behalf and he’ll spend a very long time behind bars, minimum 30.

After the events of last summer and this summer, I understand perfectly well the context of this case and the types that ‘fiery but mainly peaceful protests’ are held for.

Remind me again, how long did Bill Cosby spend behind bars?

having watched the R Kelly documentary, i am of the opinion that most young women are stupid and are far too easily swayed by fame and money.

One girl went to support him at court during his first court case, and then moved in with him !

No chance, his sentence will be measured in decades if not hundreds.

He's going to be inside for a long time now.

Amazing considering how long his reputation was well known. He was well protected whilst he was making the money

NYT indicates the range the judge can hand down based on statutory sentencing guidelines will be between 10 years and life.

Is he on remand?

I often wonder in these cases why people don’t just do a runner.

Court cases drag on for so long it can’t be that difficult to stash some cash/valuables or make other arrangements. A wealthy man like this…knowing this is likely coming….must be able to have assets his can access.

No way am I surrendering myself for a life sentence.

Could you explain this post a bit further? Which 'events of last summer and this summer’ are you referring to? What is ‘the context of this case and the types that ‘fiery but mainly peaceful protests’ are held for.’?

In what ways is this case connected to the Cosby case?

TIA.
