I came across this on Zerohedge so didn't take it too seriously, then after a bit of googling turns out its real!

https://www.driving.co.uk/news/environment/ev-char...

So that £100k EV you bought wont be allowed to be charged at home in the daytime, turns out after all the BS we get fed we don't actually have the capacity for owners to charge their own car at home.

I'm sticking with the flat six for as long as I can smile

This isn't new and has been debated for a few years i think.

Although, what is the actual scam?

Unfortunately your synopsis is not what the article says.

In any case why would you wish to charge at peak times when night rate electricity is a less than 5p pkwh?

It's a few years down the line but petrol will end up being in short supply.

You do not need to spend £100K btw.

course you could get a point now or charge it via standard socket over course of the day etc. The goverment will want to tax u just like they do on petrol so a dumb charger is a good option
