“Both amendments on bullfighting had been proposed by the Greens/European Free Alliance (Greens/EFA) in the Parliament.

At the end, most MEP across all political party groups from member states that receive significant EU funding for their agriculture voted for the package and it was adopted by an overwhelming majority of 425 voting for and 212 against”

A fair example of democracy in action. Tolerance of another person’s perspective is an important element of democracy. Just agree to disagree.

But this never happens on PH

The UK only ever saw the EU as "bad" - that's why we ended up leaving.

I do not disagree with those comments.

Prior to, and even after Brexit, we have been told that leaving the EU will drive down animal welfare standards. Meanwhile bullfighting, shooting migrating birds for sh*ts and giggles, force-feeding geese, and dodging the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species to catch the endangered mako shark is all okay in the EU.

We voted to leave an organisation which permits (and even encourages) such barbaric practices. This was also a fair example of democracy in action, that many refuse to accept.
