How on earth do so many youngsters these days end up turning rotten and committing violent crimes like this. Too many....

Is it drugs? Gangs? Drill Rap? Video games? Violent movies? Role models like Snoop, 50 Cents and Stormzy? Who knows.

Poverty, mainly. And trapped in a desperate situation they can’t escape so they’re forced to escalate to survive. Heartbreaking. And I’m just incredibly grateful my kids get to grow up somewhat away from that.

Nothing to do with poverty. It is the parents, period. If you are bringing a child into the world you own the responsibility at least until she/he/them/it (whatever) are of adult age. If you can't handle it, don't have kids. People are legally responsible for their dogs, but not of their children.

Jimi Hendrix was born in complete poverty, many of the Greats were. Apply oneself.
