This should scare the living daylights out of you no matter which way you lean politically. This and the police bill being pushed through now is the end of having a free country.

Any chance of a summary? You will forgive me for not clicking on a random Youtube link from somebody with a history of posting right-wing hysteria and conspiracy theories.

Do you genuinely think YouTube is going to infect your computer? That seems like pretty extreme paranoia.

Are you too scared to go to change.org as well?

No good you even watching it, there are far to many big words.
Oh I see. You're supremely intelligent and everyone else is thick. Got it.

What are your thoughts on the Trump power grab? You know, the armed insurrection, refusing a smooth handover of power, voting restrictions etc...

Meh I dont see it as a big issue if they do this. Looking at it the other way I dont think a Judges decision is final. There needs to be a balance somewhere that allows both sides to be able to reverse decisions and at the moment thats not possible. I have seen time and time again Judges make some very bad decisions when it comes to sentencing and the like.

I watch a lot of BBB videos and I like his content but in this case I think he is looking at things very much from one side only.

I'd have greater respect for that sentence if 'independent' had the correct spelling.

A problem might be an excess of irony when some insult others' abilities whilst being less than perfect themselves.

As said above, it monetises a viewpoint that I suspect I don't agree with. Plus it "infects" (your word) my Youtube history, increasing the chances of me being shown similar videos in future which I can really do without.

To be fair it's not just likely right-wing nutjob stuff I don't click on. Links posted without a good description of what's on the other side are rarely worth the time.

Yep... this. Giving idiots a massive voice on social media, and a following of other like-minded idiots has removed any critical thinking or ability to have an opinion that's different from the crowd.

Empty vessels make the most noise.

Isn't he one of the spanners who used to sign posts with the QAnon "W1GGYWAGGYWONKA" gibberish for a while? The true sign of an absolute arse-cake.

Think so. Even a cursory glance at the posting history says he's a full-throttle conspiracy theory ratchet.

Well what did the Judiciary expect? After all the shenanigans doing their best to block Brexit is was obvious Boris would seek his revenge and with an 80 seat majority he is doing just that - as far as I'm concerned they (the judges) deserve all they are about to get.

To be fair, Black Belt Barrister is a very good source of legal information explained objectively. I'd prefer to listen to someone who has legal experience than read a newspaper article written by someone and edited by someone else. If you don't want it in your YouTube history then sign out before clicking or delete it from your history after watching.

So you think a judiciary that is subservient to the Prime Minster is a good thing? If Boris doesn’t want to be held accountable he can step down. The idea of a government with no respect for the law should frighten everyone. What the judiciary expected was that they did their jobs and the government didn’t act like a tin pot dictatorship.

Where did they do that as opposed to applying the law?

It's amusing when someone tries to be insulting, but makes an error like that.

They interpret the law rather than just apply it... apart from that yes.

It does seem to me to be a response, largely, to incidents where the judiciary arguably used their powers to take a political position and made politically motivated decisions, and leant further in this direction than they otherwise would in any other issue, on the rights or wrongs of the decisions of the legislature and the executive of the day.

So I'm not really surprised.

In principle im not against a mechanism to ensure that the spirit of legislation is delivered in a faster and more efficient way than exists currently.

My concern would ensuring the level of checks and balances within that mechanism are sufficient to avoid misuse (and who determines that?!)

so much wrong in one post... Parliament make the laws and judges interpret that law, If Parliament think that the judges interpretation is wrong they are at liberty to change or make a new law to make their intentions clear... So yes, judges are indirectly subservient to Boris who is the leader of Parliament.
