Yeah it seemed pretty obvious by the evidence that he & his friends made it up, I'm not sure how he could get away with it.

Knowing someone's guilty and them being convicted in court are two quite different things.

Yeah it's pretty crazy. The people who concocted this were so sure they'd get away with it. They stuff coming out of media outlets such as MSNBC must surely indicate how high, far and wide this goes - even if you discount the tidal wave of press and comment at the time.
