Louisiana judge filmed making racist slurs

'It’s a n****r, like a roach': Louisiana judge asks for 'forgiveness' after video captures use of n-word following break-in by black burglar
So in the same way that when a Police Officer is found to be corrupt their past cases can be re-looked at (or is that just in the movies?) is the same likely to happen around sentences passed down by a judge who's been shown to be a racist?

She should be removed from her job immediately. It just highlights the difference between the US and UK. In the US, there is still institutionalised and generational/locational racism. So in the same way that when a Police Officer is found to be corrupt their past cases can be re-looked at (or is that just in the movies?) is the same likely to happen around sentences passed down by a judge who's been shown to be a racist?

There's something just wrong with these people. Upbringing, breeding, wired wrong, whatever, they're just "wrong".
We can on hope that such people with endemic problems like this are weened out gradually, but it will take decades and decades i suspect.

People aren't born racist.
It will never be 100% weeded out though...humans do like "groups". And the more one particular grouping is weeded out, the more a number (hopefully very small) will double down. Especially if we aren't very careful about how the weeding out is done.
It does seem like the US has a particularly long way to go. But it's by no means the only place on the planet, not even amongst those we would considered "enlightened".

He's not a victim of racism.
People who are victims of crime can become very emotional and angry.
I got burgled 25 years ago and if I saw any of them today I would hurt them.

and I'd agree with you.Call him the N word and it's racism.
Bit odd to try to justify it but it takes all sorts I guess.

This is painfully, egregiously reductive.I once called someone a F***g Gypo after a poor driving on his part. Does that mean that the autonomous cars I’m helping design now are racist? Will you be on the road with racist cars in 10 years time?

Do you struggle with people understanding you?
Have you tried the medium of interpretive dance?
