Well done Liz, and well done for kicking the Beeb into touch and giving the gig to ITN

It was on BBC and ITV, Not sure ITN had anything to do with it.

Oh, and it's Queen's and speech.

You mean apart from the giant banner at the end stating "an ITN production"?

It ceased to be a BBC exclusive production in 1997 when ITN produced it for the first time. ITN and BBC now alternate (although Sky produced it in 2012).

What? did she announce they are abolishing the TV tax?

If not, I am not voting for her again... Oh yeah, we don't get a vote on them for some reason that no-one can explain...

Talking about Philip:
‘He was also an early champion of taking seriously our stewardship of the environment, and I am proud beyond words that his pioneering work has been taken on and magnified by our eldest son Charles and his eldest son William – admirably supported by Camilla and Catherine…..’

No mention of Harry and Meghans contribution then. Bet they’re chuffed.

Funny how she mentioned the others including the wives, yet omitted the ginger winger and the drama queen.

I've suspected for a few months that she knows something that we don't.

I was struck by how much she has aged in the last year or two.

I mean, she’s 95 but she never really looked in her 90s before…..does now frown

Sadly, I think that was her last Christmas speech.

Don’t know whether anyone else felt it, but
it seemed rather sombre and very reflective. I suppose it is understandable, losing her husband after so many years, but it felt a bit more than that.

There wasn’t the usual mention of the NHS, military, events in the commonwealth.

It was reflecting on the her Family in the last year, their loss and younger members.

It was rather sad to see, it just seemed like we are starting to see the end of an era.
I think that was exactly it; a clear and pared down message that the baton will shortly be passing to the next generation and that they are up to the job. The Platinum Jubilee was billed very much as her last hurrah and all the references - verbal and visual - were to Charles, William and 'The Magnificent Seven'

It's not difficult to understand that we have a head of state and a democratically elected government given permission to rule by the head of state. One has a lot of value morally and financially, the others are the Conservatives

The same one who was late to the mourning of Diana and never visits the two disabled cousins in the Surrey home you mean? Aye, great morals indeed....

Would you visit if you'd had her killed?

The lack of acknowledgment of, indeed complete writing out of, Harry and his family was a substantial message. In a year when they have had another great grand child, and they are not even mentioned. Not even a photo.

It’s sad really.

It thoroughly serves them right after their colossally spiteful and self serving treatment of the royal family
