Sad news indeed. Janice was one of the best in the business, a pioneer for woman in radio & such a lovely voice, a top Scouser who truly knew her craft.

RIP Lovely lass.

Comes as a real shock to learn that she has passed. Very sad. R.I.P.

Sorry to read this.

I was never much into music or radio as a teen so wouldn't have appreciated she was a pioneering female Radio 1 DJ back in the day, but I do remember liking her show and the music she played which I always thought of as being a bit edgy compared to most of Radio 1 at that time.

Indeed. And her brother, Keith Chegwin, was just 60 when he died.

Janice was great with Peel on the 80’s TOTP’s. They obviously both knew the ridiculousness of what they were doing & hammed it up accordingly.

If true, then I never knew that.....
Wasnt really a fan back then, she was shacked up with Peter Powell at the time, and i didnt like him much either...

Thanks to Laser 558, I was able to give up on Radio 1 back then....
