Just heard on radio that Marks & Spencer have renamed Midget Gems sweets to Mini Gems following a campaign by some organisation to avoid upsetting those with Dwarfism.

Midget Gems are the best sweets in the world. Lion make the best Midget Gems. They also make excellent Football gums and Fruit Salad.

Sports Mix are made by Maynards who also do Midget Gems and Wine Gums.

I agree - I'm just not convinced they taste as good as they did in the 1970's when I would purchase 2oz in a loose bag (or 1/4Lb if it was pocket money day)!
