Just heard this break on the Beeb; confess I expected him to be older.

Not always my cup of but, when in the mood, certainly enjoyed his OTT collaborations with Jim Steinman, and his unique delivery.

One of a kind

I'm absolutely devastated. Suddenly got quite dusty in here. Saw him 8? times I think. He was my "famous person to have a pint with". I knew it was coming, he's been a little "erratic" on social media over the last few years, but still, I'm gutted.

Fcensoredk, that came as a shock first thing in the morning. Yes, his career had its ups & downs but undoubtedly one of the great musical talents of his generation.

First time I saw him was at Wembley arena. The support act was, bizarrely, a string quartet which was being mostly ignored by the audience . . . until we realised they were playing Meatloaf songs.

A legend. 'Bat Out Of Hell' was seminal. A real character, too.

RIP.

From the film that shouldn't be talked about.
