Given the prolonged outpouring of doom and gloom from the Govt and media over the last 24 months, sadly this is no surprise.

I fear massively for the mental health of the younger generation (and ours!), especially with a teen and sub-teen in the house frown

I don't see anything in that article that suggests a link to anything of the sort as being a reason for these deaths. Presumably you know something in addition to what's in the report.

I would ask that PH posters do not add to this thread and let the families come to terms with this awful tragedy and have time to grieve.

Nothing good can come from further posts at this time.

You mean don't mention that the people that supported the government stance on covid restrictions might be culpable in stuff like this.

I mean like what kind of seriously unpleasant person would want to speculate with absolutely no information as to what actually happened or the reasons why, on a forum or a tweet which may ultimately get back to the greaving parents.

Do you not consider that the police should do their investigation and that coroner should be allowed to do his/her job without outside speculation.

Please let it go.

There may be a time. It is not now.

If you have children / grandchildren surely you would understand this.

For goodness sake stop bring ridiculous!

There's no reason why people can't post their sympathies, or share their own concerns - it may help them.

Sympathies yes.

Speculation NO.

I cannot believe this is where we are in 2022. Families not allowed to grieve in peace to satisfy the morbid desires of some very strange individuals.

If they are I doubt they are surfing right now eh?

Shame to hear about the loss but don’t think posts here will harm the parents and I doubt the can feel any more pain than they have already.

I will not go into details and will not post further but you are showing a high degree of naive ignorance.

One last time please leave it be.

I think he means posts like your one, trying to make a political point on the back of tragedy.

I wonder what the connection with the police was. There's nothing on line that I can find. Anyone from Dorset?

They referred themselves to the IOPC. I guess they had contact with the pair prior to events unfolding?

I'm inclined to agree, whenever I've stepped out of line on here, people were reminded to report the thread\post if required.

Not really sure why this topic is any different to the myriad of others discussed on here.

It's upsetting news for everyone concerned and my sympathies go out to them.

I seriously doubt that their parents, when learning of their deaths, will have logged on to Pistonheads to see what folk are saying.

They've had problems in the recent past with regards a suicide.

If the force's actions contributed in any way to the deaths, or might have, then there's an obligation to report themselves to the IOPC.

The world is now a very different place unfortunately.
If someone is in physical distress, quick as a flash you will have a substantial number of people with their cell phones filming it in the hope of getting cash, or even better; likes. No one helping though, just maybe a mutter of "Someone needs to do something", but no offer of assistance.

The BBC News article has been rewritten, earlier today it said they were a "man and a girl", despite describing them both as teenagers, but that description has now been changed.

Terrible news, but no suspicious circumstances. Perhaps some sort of suicide pact?

This makes little sense. If someone posts something stupid then anybody can always refer it to the moderators. It's up to each of us to decide what is appropriate to post [not you....] and I would hope that there is a lot of sympathy out there, regardless of any possible reasons for the sad situation.

R I P both.

The original statement from police was a man and a girl both teenagers. may be they were worried how that sounded and changed it as it suggested the man was over 18 and the girl under 18 while both being teenage which may be more info than they wanted to release.
