Nadhim Zahawi and $500M of fraudulent loans to Sanjeev Gupta

I was reading about this in the FT over the weekend. We already know about Cameron making millions from Greensill. Now the FT found a letter from Gupta to Zahawi

“Since you were personally instrumental in getting the BBB’s approval for Greensill Capital to provide financial assistance under the CLBILS programme, it would be very fitting if you could join us to mark this special moment that provides relief to thousands of workers,” Gupta wrote to Zahawi

All the communications with Gupta were made on Zahawi's personal phone (surely a breach of the Ministerial Code?) and he has since deleted them. So we have no record of what was said.

We will never get the $500M back. Isn't this totally insane?

The whole issue is toxic and had been for years. And yet still, organisations, influential people and Govts etc and were queueing up to throw their hat in the ring. Madness
