The man who made XR and others feel at home

He's the least corrupt PM that Pakistan has ever had - going as far as having his own MPs investigated. That was never going to go down well and several of his Party defected to the other side. Combined with the fact that economic pressures drove him closer to China and Russia this has made him quite unpopular in the West. Mainly he's lost the backing of the Army (which really decides who is going to rule).

Nawaz Sharif will be back so him and his brother Shahbaz can make merry with what's left in the Government coffers.

You get the Government you deserve. Everybody knows that corruption is endemic but they'll vote for the one who promises them the biggest handout.

One of my mates is a Pakistani who is I would say pretty knowledgable about how the country runs, he told me the Army basically run the country. Article in the Sunday Times confirms as much, it says Khan was elected because he was the candidate the Army wanted and fell out with the Army so is now no longer PM. Simples.

Really unfortunate situation. Yes the army run the country but also who influences the army ?

Best Prime Minister Pak has had and he really wanted to make fundamental changes..

Unfortunate the crooks that have raped Pak of billons are going to back in power…

The new leadership all have cases worth millions against them of corruption yet these will probably magically disappear. This new lot make the Uk leadership look like saints in comparison.

Also interesting about Biden not engaging..

Biden needs India as part of the "Quad" to oppose China. Also Pakistan is firmly in China's pocket.

It's a case of "My enemy's enemy is my freind" and vice versa.

There's nothing new about BRICS, the group was formed in 2009 (minus South Africa, which entered in 2010). It's a largely useless entity though, given ongoing disputes between India and China and the economic imbalance between these countries (China's economy is about five times the size of India's, India's economy is twice that of Brazil and almost ten times the size of South Africa). And that's without factoring in the sanctions against Russia.

I am not a Londoner but would have far preferred that THAT one had been ousted.

Just thought I’d point out that Khan (the London one) won 55.8% of the vote vs 44.8% for second place. Some of you need to get over it, he won. Stop moaning, just accept the result and get on with it. Stop derailing other threads and making everything about London and the Mayor.
