Trafalgar Square evacuated

Trafalgar Square is currently being evacuated. Rumours of a loud bang, but subsequent rumours that it was a police controlled explosion and police saying this is a precautionary measure.

That’s all we know so far and I’ve been as balanced as I can on this. I’d like to think that will continue with what’s posted subsequently.

This does happen a bit in London. Something looks a bit dodgy or a car is parked suspiciously and the area is closed until it’s sorted. Imagine that the police are a bit more twitchy than normal due to all the events and increased crowds in London for the Jubilee events.
