Real life, individual benefits of Brexit

Morning all,

Ten days from now, we will reach the 5th anniversary of the Brexit referendum.

Obviously at the time we were told all about the possible benefits that might happen if we voted for it, but then the actual initial process was completely overshadowed by the arrival of Covid, so I at least have found it really difficult to decide whether or not there have been any significant benefits, so I'd be really interested to hear examples of people actually directly benefiting from Brexit?

I don't think anyone disagrees that some people have experienced downsides to Brexit, so please could people not swamp the thread with lots of examples of those and just keep to the tangible benefits?

I know there's hundreds of pages of "Brexit, was it worth is Vol 3", but that's an unreadable river of vitriol from both sides arguing about the latest political rhetoric from one mouthpiece or another.

I too would be genuinely interested to read of someone having seen a positive benefit.

For me, it’s resulted in numerous downsides. Wouldn’t mind so much if I knew someone was seeing a benefit but yet to hear of that, hence my intrigue.

Whilst I've felt no downside on a personal level nor have I felt any tangible upside. I suspect it will be years before we know either way, probably not helped by the Government appearing reluctant to 'grasp' the opportunities which those in favour say are presented

No, I started another one in the (admittedly probably forlorn) hope that it might garner some actual objective fact before descending into whining from both sides.

Yes, I think Brexit was a terrible mistake, but as I've lived in multiple EU countries, speak multiple EU languages and currently spend more of my day working with EU nationals than other Brits, I am self-aware enough to realise that I'm very much at one end of the scale. Brexit is never going to be advantageous to me personally, but if I can see plenty of my compatriots reaping tangible personal benefit from it, that makes it easier to accept that overall, the decision maybe made sense.

Brexit benefits to me personally? It's hard to think of one honestly that could be explicitly attributed to brexit but if this thread gets legs I'll read with interest.

There's a way of making sure it isn't, all the brexiters pointing out the benefits. There's even a minister of state for brexit opportunities now, a cynic would suggest that if they were readily apparent the ministry wouldn't be needed but hey ho what do I know.

From your comment you seem to be for Brexit. So tell us what positive personal benefits you have seen.
