Run into Anti PistonHeads.
I took in my car for an ‘Urgent Recall’ which also happened to be one of their slogans when I came across them.

Police standing around idle as usual. Different story if they were trying to interfere in the jubilee parade.

Sad.

Imagine having nothing better to do than roll around on the floor.

We all know we need to work harder to protect the environment, but it cant all be done overnight.
We are all born into a society that relies on fuels.etc to operate. I need to drive to work to earn money to live.etc

Emissions regulations gradually help us to reduce our carbon footprint.etc - so its going in the right direction (I think!).

Maybe they should take a trip over to other parts of the world where toxic substances just get released / dumped and go and lie on the floor there.

State of that lot, can hardly get up off the floor. Bet they are all retired professionals with good pensions and nothing else better to do with their time. Boils my p*ss.

I'm sure there'll be some post saying how they "shut down" the dealership.

I am surprised there's no red paint though. Thought that was their MO when lying on the floor.

C.S.Lewis said:
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals."

At a Toyota garage? That’s bonkers.

Toyota have been on the “green agenda” for decades.

A Land Rover dealership would have been a more justified target, although they most likely would have just been run over.

That said some of the protesters looked fairly old.

Perhaps they were trying to get a discount on a Yaris..

I'm all for protests and the anti car lot have a point (some can reduce car usage) but that was nothing more than a st piece of protest for Facebook sake.

That was about bored people trying to give themselves some personal value rather than any real attempt to make a difference.

Well done them. Its excellent to see the old and past it laying down for a cause. Shame there was no glue. wink

Anyone mind filling me in as to what they have achieved?

Nope.

Toyota have moved incredibly slowly into the Plugin world. They've infact been one of the largest anti-BEV lobbyists. Sure they produce a load of hybrids, but they don't even produce many PHEVs and only recently brought a full BEV to market (and why Lexus brought a Chademo car to market is anyone's guess).

JLR on the meantime have at least progressed to PHEV on I think every model now, and the iPace has been quite a good seller.

You realise that they are allowed to do what they are doing? It’s not illegal. Why would the police stop it?

And then they all got in their cars, or got on a fossil fuel burning bus or train to go to their fossil; fuel burning homes and have their tea! Misguided, blinkered tw*ts!

Because Mr Deacon has an agenda. Clearly has a hard on for the po-po.

Bikes which were manufactured from materials, only made possible by the use of fossil fuels, and delivered to their homes using fossil fuels, and of course eating, drinking, being clothed, and kept warm in winter and cooler in summer, and entertained in those homes only made possible in the first place by the use of fossil fuels.
Just a bunch of deliberately blinkered misguided idiots who have not thought the situation we are all in through properly, (Or worse still, they have but dont want to go there because the answer does not suit their mindlessly blinkered narrative!)
