Apparently stabbed in the neck can also mean an attempted beheading, but the media won't initially be that descriptive.

Concerning we haven’t heard anything. The attack looked frantic. Hope he’s ok - you can’t be murdered for writing a book that upsets some people (3 decades ago).

"NY Gov Kathy Hochul says he is alive.

"Hochul commented further on Rushdie’s stabbing, confirming that the author is alive and receiving treatment at a local hospital.

“He’s getting the care he needs,” said Hochul, who also praised a state trooper at the event for saving Rushdie’s life.

The governor also confirmed that the event moderator was also attacked, with the New York state police previously saying that the interviewer sustained a minor head injury."

I wonder if he’s referring to a lady who seemed to rush in at warp speed? She was certainly not holding back despite not knowing what was happening. Maybe wrong, but if it is that person, respect.

Haven't seen the/any vid of the attack. Hopefully everyone's OK (other than the attacker).

Certainly Salman isn’t - he was airlifted to hospital. News briefing happening now.

Yep, and the alleged attacker wasn't even born when he wrote it. Reportedly been identified as 24-year-old Hadi Matar.
