Wilco has now passed on. Another great guitarist and inspiration gone.

Sad. Saw him many times at the Tithe Farm House, South Harrow circa 1973-5

Amazing energy.

He was disgnosed with cancer years ago and thought he was a gonner then. I remember him being interviewed by Johnny Walker at the time saying that he was so grateful for having lasted as long as he had.

That's terrible news - I thought he was 'cured'?

Last saw him at the Cluny in Newcastle with the brilliant Norman Watt Roy on bass.

I will miss his totally unique style - he came over as a lovely humble bloke.

Rather than being sad, I’m happy that he got another 10 years.

Very sad to see this, but as others have said he did well to make it another ten years with the particularly nasty cancer he had. The docs gave him a matter of months had he not had the radical treatment. An amazing guitarist and musician, and I believe from accounts of others an all round decent bloke. Off to join Lee Brilleaux to reform the Dr Feelgood front line.

Wilko!
Itchy teeth alert.

But to the point...
...had almost a decade more than he thought at one point. And made good use of it.
Saw the Feelgoods and later his own band many times.
