My guess is that he and his ilk must believe that this resonates with the great British public, I feel very out of step with the country of my birth these days.

Why not go the whole hog and arrange TVs around the place with looping video footage of animal cruelty and torture? These are not law enforcement centres and even if they were the children are not culpable; he's a colossal gufftrap.
