First million pound footballer , passes at 69.

Watched him as a kid, and he was superb for the blues.

That's completely shocked me seeing that pop up. Awful news, and completely unexpected for such a fit man at such a relatively young age. RIP.

I remember my mate Chris Fryer in Olney was the mad Nottingham Forest fan, and I really remember Trevor's transfer. A shock to think he has gone.

Very sad news.

We had Trevor open a sports shop for us in (I think) 1981 in Basingstoke. I had to go and meet him and guide him in as the parking was under the shopping precinct and I remember getting in the back of his XJS as his lovely wife Helen (who sadly died a few years ago) was also in the car.

Adidas had arranged for Trevor to come and we had a agreed a set period of time that he would be with us. When that time expired the Adidas guys wanted to leave but Trevor wouldn't go as we still had a line of autograph hunters, mostly kids, waiting to see him. He stayed for another hour or so until he had spoken to all of them. At the time he was one of the biggest stars in British sport. Top bloke. RIP Trevor.

Saw his debut for City against Stoke. Lovely footballer to watch.

I think he had a big heart attack maybe 10 years ago. And lost his wife a few years back, which must've hit him hard. A great shame, a very good footballer and by all accounts, a very nice man.
