6 years for killing someone doesn't seem very long :-( Didn't some wag get that for doing 150mph in his jag not so long ago?

I really hoped they would increase the sentencing guidelines to reflect the fact that drive driving is a choice, not an accident.

He'll be out in 3 years. I thought they had increased the sentences for this sort of offence.

The people who told him not to drive but did not ring the police are just as guilty. IMHO.

Fully agree. Over the past few years of my career I’ve started to get increasingly angry at the ‘enablers’. Genuinely, ‘live’ drink driver reports are something which tends to get a good response. No excuse for not dobbing in selfish pricks like this.

Definitely.

Why only a 9 year ban? What reason is there to give this type of individual their licence back? It's not worth the risk. The victim's family and friends won't get the victim back.

What are the guidelines for death by drink driving?
