Injured horses running through London

Anyone else see this? Was walking to work this morning by Canon Street and two horses with saddles but no riders came charging through traffic, being chased by an undercover police car with sirens on.

White horse had red all down them, thought it might be paint but videos on Twitter looks like blood

Looks like they came from near The strand and they’ve got as far as Limehouse tunnel so far.

There are reports that the horses are from the household cavalry and that five horses threw their riders

No it was 5 horses who were spooked apparently & threw their riders, no one seems to know exactly what happened as yet.

Incident occurred in buck palace road, two horses captured by the Met in the Highway, E1 and awaiting Army vets to arrive

More concerning is the erection of blue tents around where a soldier fell

Knowing how well these horses are schooled and exposed to a wide variety of environments to ensure they are able to deal with stressful situations, the fact there are at least 5 horses who have run off would suggest 3rd party involvement- possibly a deliberate act? Maybe some kind of ultrasonic device used to trigger them?

Hopefully no one seriously injured.

Does sound very strange. Appreciate horses are pack animals and are batst crazy at the best of times. However at this level, very very unusual for 5 to be throw riders at once.

The red stuff doesn't look like blood to me - its too bright red. It does look like the paint the protestors use.

Yep it's used amongst the horsey circles usually put in an advert for a quick sale. Unfortunately there's no such thing as a bomb proof horse. You could have the best horse in the world and it's still an unpredictable missile capable of massive injury or even death.

Personally im not a fan of horses at all, but I have worked with them, and seen how well Police horses are trained ( though still don’t trust the feckers) but they are VERY hard to spook

I can’t imagine the military ones are much different

The military ones used to have to put up with the sounds of cannon fire and Muskets. I think they still train them to be used to loud bangs.

That's a hell of a stretch, from what little information is available. I would say it is very, VERY difficult for a MOP to spook a military horse.
