Once again the hunting community closes ranks... "I wasn't in control, so can't be my fault".

Hunt masters walk away from conviction again, and the houndsmen get a fine of £1700 each all in.

Ie how can a "hunt master" be found not to be liable for the actions of their hunting dogs?

Like horses, if you can't control the thing, don't take it into places where it can get up to no good.


And of the Tories could pass legislation to say Rwanda was safe whilst the UK was processing asylum claims from Rwanda, then surely Labour can pass legislation saying someone's dog pack tearing a fox apart is illegal no matter how it's dressed up.

Personally I'm in favour of that, having seen dogs off the lead chasing deer ad all kind of wildlife. Would ps off a lot of voters, though.

I'm not sure why the government would have a problem with people owning dogs.

I can't say really I hate anyone...I may not like them, but I don't hate them. I make an exception for anyone involved in blood sports though!

Discretionary luxury for starters. I can imagine lots of reasons. Environmental. Health and safety. It’s not fair that some people can afford to own dogs, while others equally deserving cannot. Therefore no one should.

Hunt dogs regularly out of control wandering around our hamlet here in Wales. Blokes on quad bikes trying to round them up. We all have to keep pets indoors when they're out supposedly drag hunting (yeah, right). Hunt followers are shockingly arrogant and entitled, blocking roads with their cars and giving you the evil eye when you try to get past. Successive hunt masters have said they'll work with residents but never do. We're not told about hunts. It's bad luck if you're out on a horse.

There’s a lot of negatives linked to both fishing and shooting. Of course that doesn’t mean everyone involved in these so called sports is doing anything wrong.

There is a world of difference between people who hunt for food (I.e Pheasant shooting), people who need to control vermin humanely, and the nasty characters involved in hunts.

What are hunt followers? Are they the people that help out or 'fans' who follow because they are interested?
I don't know about this sort of thing.
