Is Northern Rail's fax machine playing up?? I read somewhere that this is still their preferred communication method....

Last night my train was late leaving Euston because "Coach F is too heavy." It was also delayed by the late arrival of the train manager as he himself was on another train that arrived late. And, once we did finally leave, we were further delayed by a signal failure.

That’ll be because those trains tilt, which means that whilst it wouldn’t normally be an issue, in that particular case the ‘computer says no’ if a particular carriage is overloaded.

Issue today was, you’ve guessed it, a hardware update. Who’d have thought!
