Ironic? Man Telling One Fairy Story Criticised For Saying…

A Vicar tells year 6 pupils there is no Santa. Wonder how he would feel if the Humanist society stood outside his church with "No God" posters?
"The minister, who is vicar of the nearby St Faith’s Church, is alleged to have told the children: “You’re all Year 6, now let’s be real, Santa isn’t real.”

Most kids stop believing in Santa Claus in reception class, or at least the seeds of doubt are sown as other kids break the news to them.
I could not imagine ANYONE in my year 6 class (going back a bit now) believing that Santa Claus was real, let alone crying in class because of the realisation. Rightly or wrongly, they would have been laughed at until they started secondary school and then laughed at again once they were in secondary school after their new class mates heard about it.
One parent told MailOnline: “I don't know how it can be undone, but I think it's absolutely disgusting.”
As with a lot that occurs within schools, it sounds like a parent making a mountain out of a mole hill and over exaggerating to stir up trouble/drama.

My wife dragged me to Christingle at the village church last year where the stand-in, sandal-wearing, bellend of a vicar promptly told all the children (of all ages) that Santa wasn’t real. I spent the whole service with my blood boiling and had to battle with myself not to say something.
I despise religion at the best of times but, aside from funerals where I don’t have a choice, that’ll be the last time I willingly go to service. Tossers.

tty move regardless of what age the child is, the one thing that children never get back is their innocence.
Mummy why did you lie to me for 12 years? It took the other kids at school to tell me Santa wasn't real and I felt such a fool.
If you're older than 10 and believe in Santa you're being misled, nothing more.

"The irony is strong with this one" doesn't really cover it. "The minister, who is vicar of the nearby St Faith’s Church, is alleged to have told the children: “You’re all Year 6, now let’s be real, Santa isn’t real.”

If the kids do, or don’t believe, it’s not the role of any adult to tell the kids, except the parents.
