Here's another one.
The Business Secretary told the HoC that he had been a Solicitor working in Manchester despite leaving the course to become an MP.

If anyone wants to offer me a job as a surgeon, I'm available.
I have a Stanley knife and a box of elastoplasts in the cupboard so that qualifies me according to Labour rules.

What is the punishment for breaking the law in the HoC or does parliamentary privilege mean you can legally call yourself a Solicitor when you are not one.

His social media has been heavily modified in the last hour or two removing the reference to him being a solicitor (but of course the pre modified versions of his profiles have been saved by people and shared ) there is also audio of him saying he was a solicitor and yes the old cliche .. theres alway a tweet!

And that is an offence ...

I've got a haemorrhoid that needs sorting, please PM me your rates.

Comes as no surprise that a Labour MP has used creative writing on their CV. The honeymoon period is rapidly turning into a swingers party for all the wrong reasons.

Ah, maybe he was soliciting in that context and thought that he was therefore a solicitor. Totally understandable.

Not even the usual Lab acolytes are defending this one. I sense fatigue setting in.

If he were at any time a qualified solicitor, it should be a simple matter for him to provide a practicing certificate that would settle the issue once and for all.

The most surprising aspect of this for me is I'd always blithely assumed he had previously been a geography teacher
