A woman reported missing by her family in Texas has been found in the Scottish Borders, living in a tent with a self-proclaimed "lost African tribe".
The camp has been set up in woodland near Jedburgh by the so-called Kingdom of Kubala, who say they are reclaiming land stolen from their ancestors 400 years ago.
The trio consists of group leader King Atehene, 36, his wife Queen Nandi, 43, and their handmaiden Asnat.
However, it has now emerged that Asnat - also known as Lady Safi - is Kaura Taylor, a missing woman from the United States.
The group insist they are a lost Hebrew tribe and say its King is a direct descendant of the Messiah.
They claim their ancestors were expelled from Scotland when Elizabeth I deported "native black Jacobites" more than four centuries ago.
King Atehene, who once performed as an opera singer under the name Kofi Offeh, said: "We live a very simple life of returning to innocence. We connect to nature. We connect to the trees around us. We get grounded every morning. We bathe in the springwater. We are living a simple life of relying daily on the creator for food, shelter and clothing.
"We live in a tent without walls, but we are not afraid of anyone, for we have the protection of the creator, Yahowah."

Barefoot in a tent on a Scottish hillside may be less appealing in a couple of months. But they seem to be doing no harm so I would leave them to it.
Very much this. They have randomly arrived in one of the best summers I can remember. See how they feel about tent living in mid December when it is near freezing, raining and dark for 16 hours a day.Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
