New automotive chip shortage looms
Discussion
Just when you thought it was safe, it seems some underhand activities have been going on at a Dutch chip manufacturer. The Chinese are involved.

They have had five years to sort themselves out. I dont have much sympathy at this point.https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/368111/not-agai...
You mean to say that relying on suppliers from a country that has a pattern of undercutting the market to develop dominance, then become unreliable and/or abusive to their foreign customers, might have consequences? Who knew?
Little sympathy here for anyone who has got caught out, any more than I have sympathy for those who've got screwed by the years long messing about in rare earth supplies.
Chase the pennies using Chinese suppliers and don't be surprised when you get the unlubed consequences.

Don’t you mean a Chinese chip manufacturer where the Dutch are now involved? https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/368111/not-agai...
It’s US vs China by proxy, forcing ownership changes and pushback. Similar happening in the mining and metals sectors.
