I guess we need a holding area for 24 hours or something

So the checks can be redone again at the pre release place

Mistakes happen I guess due to being over stretched

I bet they only want to find him to give him his 500 quid leaving present.

So we have a Border Force which doesn't control borders, train drivers who hate driving trains, bin men who don't empty bins, and a Prison Service which can't keep people locked up

If they weren't the envy of the world, I'd begin to wonder if our public services were like, a bit rubbish.

It feels a bit like that scene in Life of Brian...

Guard: Crucifixion or freedom?
Prisoner: Freedom.

Illegal immigrants are presumably only a very small (even if proportionally large) part of the prison population. So there would appear to be two possibilities here:

1. Large numbers of criminals are accidentally released every day and no one makes a fuss about it.
2. The reason illegal immigrants are accidentally released is connected to their status and lack of conventional documentation etc.

If 1. This is very worrying!
If 2. It is more than a little surprising that the first case wasn’t investigated and procedural changes made.

Lammy's temper tantrum in the HoC was quite spectacular.

As above, it's probably something that happens regularly and we were blissfully unaware before. And now the media are all over it.

Press were probably about to leak something so they've had to come clean.

Hang on though, Rachel and her upcoming budget will fix this, let's take some more hard earned and put a sticking plaster on the issue.

Unbelievable that this has happened again, more worryingly has it happened before and just hasn't been identified or release to the public.

I don't even need to click on the link, I love that film. Bit frustrated we seem to be living in it though, didn't really want that.

I thought it was repugnant at the time, more so with hindsight
