I hope no gullible PHers have been taken in by the antics of Geeth Sooriyapura.

A Sri Lankan influencer claims to have made £230,000 running Facebook pages posting anti-migrant and Islamophobic disinformation about Britain.

One of his pages stated in March that London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan promised to build 40,000 council homes that would be available only to Muslims, so they could be 'near Mosques and Halal food shops'.

The Facebook pages, which often have multiple spelling and grammatical errors, have names including Together for Britain, Proper British Pride, and It's Real British Here.

Posts include suggestions Muslims are not offended by sex attacks and suicide bombings, conspiracy theories about white people being replaced by non-whites and messages describing migrants as invaders.

And unfortunately there will be a section of society that would genuinely believe it, share it, talk about it to their friends...
There are utter tools out there that believe anything they read online.

I'm sure it's embarrasing for anyone to admit they have been taken in by these types of scams, although the narratives this guy is peddling does sound like stuff i've seen on PH before.

Your post makes a logical point, and it could be right, but I could only find information on the following being exposed.

Got any links on these Indian bots pushing far left stuff?

posting anti-migrant and Islamophobic disinformation about Britain for cash and profit is something only the Daily Mail should be doing.

They are worried about the competition stealing their revenue streams.

While I think individuals are, largely, fking idiots, I think the collective generally has its finger on the pulse.

As they say, your mileage may vary.

You have too much faith in human(animal)kind. Sometimes, it's the opposite - like a bunch of schoolkids - people either assume the majority is correct or join in with the bullying swarm as it's much easier to agree with the majority.

Or people are just resonating with online posts that match personally held prejudices/beliefs. Foreign based geezer puts up a post about the mayor of london and you re-post it with "grr khaant" and feel smug about it because this is what you believe as well. Even though the post was total bks to start off with, and the dude sitting in Sri Lanka makes money off your clicks. Seems like a good business model.

And getting off at Datchet won't save them.

Social media is simply the most efficient means that humans have ever devised to take ownership of the spuds in a population. The morons who thought Freddie Star ate a hamster, who believed Jimmy Saville was perfectly nice and believe Martin Lewis sells free money schemes.

And they appear in waves on PH touting the latest mind bending drivel that's been downloaded into them by their masters. Long gone are the inefficient methods of having to go into a stty pub to sell tat, you can harvest morons for money from anywhere in the world. It's truly amazing and it's only fair that chaps in the third world should have the same advantage to harvest spuds as everyone else.

The spuds do seem to be migrating but they're legion within all political parties.

And why might that be? I’ll tell you - Labour are bunch of useless fking s who are destroying this country.

See also, calling concerned parts of the population the equivalent of “spuds” at the last US election - what happened then? Oh yes, the democrats got their arse handed to them.

If PH started listing the locations of people posting here (like X did), I wonder if it would be any surprise.
