This is so fked up.

Terrorists plotted to kill Jews in ‘worst attack in British history’

Damned good work by the security services catching these utter scumbags.

Yep, good work by our security services. Have to be constantly vigilant for this.

I've just been listening to details of how children in some Jewish schools practise drills in case there's an attack on their school. I mean, it's probably worthwhile training, but how desperately sad that it's felt necessary in the first place.

The scale of the atrocity planned by Saddaoui and Hussein is disturbing. Credit to the GMP for foiling them, but this won't be the last such attempt. Let's hope the terrorists never get lucky......

Heard similar. Some of it sounds more at place in the US than the UK. Stories of armed guards and safe rooms and all sorts.

So messed up.

100%

There are a number of these nascent plans that get shut down by the security service, most of which do not see the light of day. They and colleagues in GCHQ are constantly fighting a war against terrorists and OCGs and combined with certain domestic uksf personnel happily make the UK a tricky place to operate.

The hidden and unseen side of police work that goes on 24/7 365 days a year

As we celebrate Xmas and eat our turkeys brave men and women will be out theee ensuring we can all go about our lives uninterrupted

They have my utmost respect, they deserve all of us to support them

Officers who are prepared to go undercover and infiltrate organised crime and terrorist organisations put their lives on the line daily along with putting their families at risk

They are without doubt unsung and often vilified heroes

Funny how they target primary schools but don’t fancy schlepping to Israel to have a word with the IDF.

All a bit 15th century religious wars, utter morons who think they make a difference, like the Saturday afternoon sad acts carrying on a football game by fighting opposing fans.

Yeah if the enemy is Israel and it's murderous ways why not go fight there instead of targeting school children.

But we've banned most guns as people in the Mass Shooting thread keep insisting the US does and would you believe it, it doesn't work. When will people understand that legislation will only ever affect the law abiding. The sole purpose of law is to give the State the permission to punish, it is not and never has been a magic formula to ensure that crime does not occur.

The fact that the intelligence services caught this in time is something to be celebrated, but we have to get lucky every time, the terrorists only have to get lucky once.

Indeed - I think many people believe Israel have been heavy handed in Gaza but to respond by attacking innocent Jewish citizens in the UK is both unacceptable and cowardly. If they want to play at being the hard man they should go and have a word with the IDF and see how they get on....

Well done for quoting the IRA but what legislation would you change to make these sort of plans less likely?
