If I had £40 million, a religious symbol would be about the last thing I would spend it on:

What a total waste of £££.

I like it.
I view it as a folly due to having no religious beliefs.
Initially I didn't like the Angel of the North, this I like the design straight away.

Wouldn’t £40 million be better spent helping the needy, as Jesus was supposed to have preached about?

What could possibly go wrong with inviting the public to contribute to this? biggrin

I’m sure the sky fairies will appreciate it.

There's reasonable evidence intercessory prayer actually inhibits recovery from sickness, so my advice is to stick to praying for rain and stuff like that. Miracles are literally not a thing.

I don't mind it, it's not public money being spent and it doesn't look religious in anyway.

Looks good and I think even now we still let people spend their money on things they want

I mean ots privately funded so fair enough and it's just like any other bit of modern art. Angel of the north or that thing made out of knives or much of the stuff put on the plinth in London. Course it is quite big but hey ho. I hope it's secure so doesn't get vandalised. To me it looks like a big skate ramp

nice looking design.

Nothing comes cheap these days, fair play to the person who donated the cash to build it.
