To be honest, I am surprised it has taken this long. You have to conclude - the authorities knew of his whereabouts for a long time.

I wonder what has changed?

There certainly seems to a clampdown happening on Uk and Irish crims, some Scottish gang boss got caught in Bali last week and Spanish police have been rounding up plenty of others. When I think of on-the-run villains in the Costas I tend to think of some semi likeable 80s costa del crime cockney ex-heist type but the current crop are very violent, professional, organised and running huge drug operations. A totally different breed.

I read that this gang were deeply involved with Iran including shipping their oil so UAE probably only too happy to do it

I don’t know if organised crime was ever anything other than viscous and violent.

He has been quite openly seen around and living his life their until recently. Maybe to much noise and they have to do something.

Its the Americans that wanted him isn't it?

Well if being involved in oil smuggling, it may be light crude and no so viscous...

Yes, on the FBI’s Red List, Daniel, Christie (Father), and other brother Christie Jnr.

If everyone got their fingers out and got arrest warrants issued Dubai's foreigner population would halve.

The (alleged) body-count related to the Kinahan / Hutch feud is both staggering and appalling.

I have been following this story for the last decade.

Crime World on YouTube is a good view. Back to my original post. I do wonder what has changed?

The Kinahan’s have been on that FBI list for a few years now.

I would bet good money that kinahan was an informant for the security services of some sort. He’s been too well known for too long and been too obvious to not be. All the other members of his ‘super cartel’ are already convicted. Yet him and all his family have not been touched.

But… this won’t make a bit of difference. With drugs at least. Someone else will take over and flood the market.

Shame he is going to Ireland and not America as he seems like the sort of low life which high security prisons in America were made for.

His links to Iran and Russia won’t be helping him much now. I reckon it’s Iran that’s come him undone.

Maybe he posted a pic showing smoke rising from an apartment building?

Without dodgy money would it even be there in the first place? (Like it is now, I mean.)

UAE finally got around to agreeing an extradition treaty with Ireland ISTR.
