Polling day tomorrow, is anyone going to vote? With such an unpopular government do we think turnout will be higher? Will certainly be an interesting test for the Greens and Reform and also interesting to see if Tories can move forwards.

Labour election broadcast list night summed up Starmer. We are talking local elections he is talking about Iran. Local elections have never brought down a PM before but could this be a frrst?

I've never known a campaign like it for pushing stuff through my letter box begging for my vote, I can't recall ever receiving so much literature.

I won't be voting, I can't see anyone that will change anything for me.

I will hold my nose and vote.

It's only 1 seat in the local council but it matters, as Labour need to be completely removed from any bit of government, but not by the insane Greens.

The only party I've not received any flyers from is Reform - I have no idea who their local candidate is or what his/her policies might be.

I did receive one for Reform but there's no online presence and anything to read about their candidate, which makes it a no-go.

They are a paper tiger.

Will be interesting to see the turnout. History suggests that only around 11% of voters actually bother voting in local elections.

The press likes to use it as a barometer of public opinion but in reality, the political allegiance of the councillors you vote for have zero impact on what happens nationally and almost no relevance to what happens locally.

People are going to vote for a party not a councillor but they'll get a councillor who's job is to oversee things that impact us on a day-to-day basis; bus timetables, Adult Social Care, parks, bins, libraries, swimming pools, licensing.....etc. Who one votes for 'should' be based upon one's opinion on their likely competency in such matters - not what party they are a member of.

I had a reform flyer through the regular post this time, addressed to both adults in the household. I wonder how/where they got our names & address.

Does anyone have the Corbyn party standing in their area? Are they still a thing, it's hard to tell. Always knew it would be a shambles but never this bad. Now the Greens are hoovering up all the useful idiots instead.

BCP has added new "Town Councils" for Bournemouth, Broadstone & Poole - effectively an extra tier of councillors that are not needed. This extra tier of councillors which will have minimal responsibilities (Christmas lights, community events etc.) and from what I can ascertain no one wanted them... alas the Lib Dems have pressed on despite objects form the both the Torys and Labour. It has also been reported that the 7% council tax rise this year was needed to pay for this extra tier.

Not sure who to vote for as the choice is akin to trying to pick the clean end of a turd - either 2xLib Dem candidates,2xGreen or Labour.

Had a a fair whack. The greens, labour, Plaid Cymru and lib Dems every leaflet states what reform are going to do nothing about what they are going to do themselves. Same as what I've seen on Facebook. Nothing from the Tories though.

Here in Norfolk I've had just 2 flyers, Reform and an Independent.

Neither flyer had actual details and n policy etc, just vague "we will do X" without actually saying 'how' they'd do what say, nor offering any evidence of past work to show that they (as an individual) have actually changed anything in the past.

However, at least they both bothered to attempt to get my vote, no other party has.

To circle back to my comment earlier, the Reform leaflet we had (along with a poster to display in our window!) talked about all the things they'd do in government but absolutely nothing about what's needed to be done locally which is what the elections tomorrow are all about.

They know this and they know that the majority of people don't know this or think they that don't care but use the rhetoric to amass votes.

So, the chances are we'll end up with a load of Reform councillors fumbling about trying to figure out how to manage local public services and a year for now, people will be wondering why there's still small boat crossings, and Labour are still in power.

It's the local elections, so planning on voting for the only candidate who is actually local, living in the town. Happens to be Lib Dem, but party affiliation is less of a concern (although I would draw the line at either Reform or Greens).

Around here they are the most visible of the main parties in terms of canvassers and leaflets. Guess they are putting resources where they think they can win.

I've never voted in locals but would have relished giving this cretinous shower a kicking this time, sadly though we have no locals as it's a 'fallow' year rolleyes

...however I hope that similarly minded folk elsewhere don't miss the opportunity and make the effort this time.

Had leaflets through from Labour and a knock on the door from Independent Socialists.

Only the council elections here, so won't be interrupting my day by voting.
