Random van driver gives armed policeman a lift. I particularly liked his comment at the end of the video.

I did have a slight chuckle when the door slammed in his face with the tacticool pull-up smile

I’ll have to start looking for policemen to give lifts to; ‘Sorry m’lud, but check under section 87 RTA - I was under directions from the constable to floor it'

Whilst commendable, i think it was a bit irresponsible putting a m.o.p. in harms way if the guy they were chasing was armed with a gun.

Sounds like the m.o.p. volunteered (as hopefully most people would). Many more people might have been put in harms way if the suspected gunman had escaped - so the officer made the right call.

Agreed, and the Cop made sure he was well past the suspect when they pulled over.

Fair enough, but you can just imagine the wailing if the MOP was unlucky enough to get seriously injured.

Have to say that was my first thought. Unfortunately I wouldn't doing the same as the van driver in the same position. Too much risk for absolutely no reward.

The reward is that you did something to help and they got the bad guy because of it.

But the chances are you'd get done for speeding/have an accident/be investigated for wreckless driving. And the perp would get away anyway.

As this is PH, has anyone suggested that if plod spent more time on the streets pounding the beat rather that chasing hurty words online they might've been fit enough to catch the perp on foot?

First time I've seen this video in the DM of the AFO being helped by a MOP, let's hope he is awarded a CCC or a PPBA for his actions.

They were in full rig carrying atleast one gun, give them a break. Jesus Christ.

The MOP offered did he not? And I bet he loved any second of it and will be dining out on that story for years.

The chances of “getting done” are zero.

On one of the videos the comments were quite amusing about him never being believed if not for the footage.

Definately, he will have saved the video and be showing it to everyone but fair enough really. He did a good thing and deserves his moment.
