I’ve smaller groups out in Suffolk fields. Five or six vans on a field. Very intimidating people.

Farmers or game keepers who confront are incredibly brave, they do so knowing the police aren’t coming.

To have three hour meet and not give a toss about the cops shows that in all likelihood someone’s being paid off.

Obviously you missed the bit about intimidation. If they are telling you they know where your kids go to school and your wife shops, or threatening your daughter on social media with rape.

All of that before you have shot anyone, imagine what it would be like after you shot one ?

When we moved to our rural home in 2021 my farmer neighbour told me they got visits from coursers and if I saw them on his fields around us just to ignore it. Any interaction was highly discouraged as it was explained to me that these were very bad people from the traveller community.

A few months later one night I noticed lights and noise in the field behind our property so went out to have a look. As I stood outside watching lights on the field I heard something ‘zip’ past my head. No idea if it was meant as a warning or it was from a shot taken that happened to travel in my direction, but I was back inside sharpish.

Thankfully we’ve seen zero activity since then which has been a few years.

What’s frustrating is that they know who all these organised gangs are and they know who the ringleaders are. What it needs is some secretly sanctioned extrajudicial justice, it really can’t be that difficult if you have a total disregard for the law - like the criminals do.

Might be better to start by mentioning the actual core participants which the BBC managed to utterly avoid in that whole long article.

Another bit of blatent organised crime that has the authorities looking the other way.

At least in the US they get called an organised crime group and homeowners sometimes shoot them.

You missed the smiley face but just purge the lot of them and get rid of the scum that plague our country.
The problem is it wasn’t dealt with a long time ago these people are not your proper Romany Gypsies so it’s absolutely nothing to do with race they just play the card.
The problem has got worse since the dawn of the “new age traveller “ which seemed to take hold in the early 90s so if any politician is to blame is TB and the human rights lawyers which is wife was one of and made her a multi millionaire…. That’s socialism for you

That’s why there needs to be zero tolerance to these type of people and tougher sentences perhaps get them altogether and chase them round a field then let dogs let rip, punishment to fit the crime
