The chief exec of British Gas has been on Sky news this morning saying we should create a social tariff to give cheaper bills for those who can't afford them.
This will be funded by tax or other customers, so again it's the people working paying for everyone else.

If people can show that they have their priorities right, i.e. don't eat out, don't have a top end mobile, only watch terrestrial TV, don't have the house warmer than 21°C, and they still can't afford to pay a gas bill, then I am sympathetic.
I agree there are people who genuinely can't afford it through no fault of their own illness etc. and I am sympathetic to them however there would be so many people taking the piss on this tariff if it was launched. Plus why should we pay it through increased tax or energy bills, the energy sector isn't exactly short of money.vikingaero said:

I can see the argument that those that work are becoming disinterested in doing so, because they are constantly tasked with providing more for those who don't. A proportion of those who don't are quite happy being provided for, so don't work. At no point in this scenario is there an incentive to work.
I'm a fking decorator and I see this as an obvious situation. How can the country have sunk so low as to have people in charge who are unable to.

Is this the same Chris o’Shea that trousered £4.73 million last year , down from £5.08million the year before that and £8.2 million in 2023 saying that customers who might have a fiver left at the end of the week should be picking up the slack for people struggling to pay their full whack to his company that posted a profit of over £800 million last year ?

The truth is we have an idle class. A whole section of society who are professional dolenites with chronic idle-itis.
It’s a joke. PiP because their kids can’t behave. Uc because they have more kids than they can support. Disability cars because they are depressed. The list goes on.
Should force all of them to work as dustbin people:collectors (a job I have actually done) or sorting in recycling centres. They would soon develop the ability to get a normal job.
It will just get worst under labour and this bunch of idiots though.
