Cop Shot In Nottingham

Shot in foot. Not life threatening.


"A man and woman were being hunted on Sunday after the shooting of a police officer in Nottingham town centre. The officer was in a stable condition in hospital after being shot in the foot.

The incident occurred on Saturday night after the male officer approached two suspects in a street just off Nottingham’s pedestrianised central square. The suspects fled the scene after the shooting."

Unusually it's actually a woman who appears to be the main suspect if I'm reading this right.

Labour MP for Nottingham East Nadia Whittome has told the BBC she understood the officer was "now out of surgery".

She added: "This incident will no doubt will be damaging to the reputation of the city, especially because of our past, but I think that we also saw was an extremely rare incident that was the worst of our city.

Nice of her to think of the reputation of the city. Mind you, it is on the critical list I suppose.

Bloody hell. No forend. No trigger guard and 'modified' stock.

That thing looks like it could be just as dangerous to the assailant. Wouldn't be surprised if it flew out of her hand when she discharged it.

Hope cop is OK but could have been much worse for him.

according to BBC life changing injury and has had surgery-does not sound good but at least not life threatening

I know it's a life changing injury but I'm glad it wasn't any worse, and I'm really glad they caught the perps.

Could even have gone off on impact when dropped. Would explain the foot injury.
