Not seeing any issues with any of those from here (inside UK, but outside London)

ETA: Apparently is it an issue at europe-west-2-b

Google says;
"is one of three local availability zones in the London region, intended to help protect against hardware or regional failures. The downtime began at 0608 UTC"

Suffering here as have a bunch of services running using GCP... And it's not been quick to get back up and running sadly.

Nearly 5 hours! Not a great look for a data centre, which is supposed to be very resilient with backups, generators, diverse connections etc.

I've tried a few of them listed and they seem to be fine for me.

My team uses AWS so I prefer it when AWS goes down and I get to bunk off for a few hours.

Russian's, Iranian's or North Korean's involved maybe...?

Or just a Google employee who dropped their coffee in the server room or someone signed off an update that wasn't fully tested?

Either way not a good look for Google.

I genuinely think there is more risk of the Americans falling out with someone and turning off access.

Latest as of around 12:40pm UK time:

Current Status

The outage is not fully resolved yet, but Google Cloud says the underlying power event in the London (europe-west2) region has been mitigated and service restoration is underway. Partial recovery was expected shortly after Google's latest update, with remaining services being restored afterwards.

Root Cause

Google has now publicly attributed the incident to a power event affecting part of its London infrastructure, rather than a cyberattack.

What's Still Affected?

Google Cloud's own status page still lists an active incident affecting dozens of cloud services in the europe-west2 (London) region, including:

Google Compute Engine
Google Kubernetes Engine
Cloud Run
Cloud SQL
Cloud Storage
Cloud Firestore
Cloud Load Balancing

and many others.

Customer Impact

Reportedly affected services include:

Revolut
HSBC
Halifax
Lloyds Bank
Royal Mail
DPD
Rightmove
Some NHS England online services
