I don't have a problem with it. As long as it's subject to all the usual Health and Safety wotnots - ie not in someone's back yard or next to a playground, I fail to see any issues. After all, smoke from crematoria goes up into the air, how is this different? (Unless crematoria have, I dunno, chimney filters or something...).

This is a Christian country. Many countries will not let us practice our religion there so why should we have to give in to their demands here.
If our laws do not permit some of their religious practices they have two simple choices. Obey our laws or move to a country which is non-christian!

I hope that the vast majority of people on PH would regonise the contribution the Hindi comunity has made to the UK, and if some people want to be cremated in a manner in keeping with their traditions, then why not?
As long as all the health checks etc etc are done I dont see the problem.
We seem to be seeing a lot more of the knee jerk anti imigrant crap on here recently...
Personally I think it would not be a bad way to go.

Assume they don't, and educate them.As for funeral pyres, it would be a very handy way to dispose of murder victims and other embarassing bodies before the police can investigate.

Can't they sod off elsewhere and do it? We're supposed to be advancing as a society, but all I see in the UK is pandering to outdated religious beliefs and regression into the past. We'll be burning again witches next to satisfy some African religion.
