I'm surprised and sorry if this a repost, that no seems to have mentioned this today;
Leading story of last week was the incompetence of Jacqui Smith.
Second story was the anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster and the government minister getting booed at the memorial.
Here's a thought; http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/merseyside/8007...
I think the important word in that headline is 'may'. Gets her some good headlines without having to actually do anything. Do they really think we're that stupid that we can't see through this? This government & particulary this useless Home Secretary will do anything to try and look good. Yet another insult to the victims as the chances of a further inquiry into that event are vitually nil especially given the cost involved.

Is there nothing that horse-faced, arrogant, self-serving, self-indulgent b
h wont do? It makes me so angry.
I suppose it just so happens the she calls for the release of documents on the 20 year anniversary of the tragedy, right when she's in the middle of a political s
tstorm. It would have nothing to do with the fact it was Margaret Thatcher and a Conservative Government in power at the time.
I'm glad that the families of those who died may find out the truth about what happened. All the details, whether there was a cover up or not, but to me this smacks of so much desperation. It's like another smear campaign masquerading as "We're New Labour, we care, they're Conservatives, look what they did... baaad people!"
Why can a party not win an election on it's achievements, rather than discrediting the opposition?

I think we'll find the real reason for it's early release is because the Tories were in power in 1989.
Yeah, I think you are right. I'm also placing my money that the initial reports until they were sanitized blamed the supporters rather than the Police.Whatever the reason, its designed to whip up some anti-Tory feeling.
