Ban Coin Operated Tanning Salon!
Discussion
This story is great and pretty much highlights everything wrong with certain parents in this country:

So, to sum it up. 10 year old is let loose with 'older cousin', given money to go to the fair which she instead spends at a tanning salon. The result is she gets burnt and the mother, rather than taking responsibility herself, calls for this place to be banned.
I don't even know where to begin witrh this one.

- The place has a huge sign on the door stating 'Strictly Over 16s' yet the 10 year old ignored this and went on anyway.
- The mother claims this place is unsupervised. Where was the 'older cousin' during all this? I notice they omit 'older cousins' age, so they too can shirk responsibility no doubt?
- "She was under-age but there was no staff there to stop her from using it". Um, so? If she saw a car with a key in the ignition does that make it okay for her to drive it? If she finds a packet of fags and no one around to stop her smoking them should she start puffing away on them? FFS
- "The only way we can protect young people from this sort of self-inflicted damage is to control the use of sun tanning faculties by legislation." Why yes, of course. The obvious solution. How about we protect young people from this sort of s
t by not letting our ten year olds do whatever the hell they pleaase and actually take responsibility for their actions?
