If I just turn up at the palace of Westminster on Thursday (assuming they're scheduled for them) have I a hope in hell of getting into the visitor's gallery for PMQs, or do you have to be really lucky to secure a place? I don't mind getting in early in the morning and wasting time sitting there for a few hours if necessary.

And if allowed in, I assume that heckling isn't permitted, but there are no real (e.g. prison) consequences, right?

You'd might be OK on Thursday - but only mostly because PMQ's is on Wednesday laugh !

As far as i'm aware you need to be invited as the guest of an MP.

Getting to see PMQ's is very difficult.

This week, I arranged - as anyone can via their MP - to have a tour of parliament. Asked to go and see PMQ's, but all MP's have a minimal amount of tickets that they tend to hand out to trusted members of the general public such as Otis Ferry.

In other words no chance for a commoner like me. Looking forward to the tour though.

What are their views on public heckling and throwing of shoes?

I'd have no problem serving a short (<2 weeks) gaol sentence to throw a show at Gordon Brown. Be quite an interesting experience actually I think.

After the purple flour bombs, I think they erected perspex screens to stop this form of protest frown

No chance I'm afraid. Since Blair got flour bombed they have a rather hideously installed glass shield in front of the viewing gallery.

1) I have been attached to another MP's group. Not sure if the MP is doing the walk around.

2) It is as simple as e-mailing your MP.

3) You are asked your preference on dates.

Hope the above helps.

our MP met us and came around with us -- the tour is done by one of the old guys who works in the Commons -- I forget exactly what he had done over hte years but he'd been there for about 40 years and knew lots ---

Is there a perspex barrier in the Upper House too?
